STEP 1 – APPLY the detergent from the kit
Spray the detergent on both sides of the filter and let it sit for 10 minutes to remove all dirt. Do not let the detergent dry on the air filter.

  

STEP 2 – RINSE the air filter:
Rinse the air filter with cold, low-pressure water applied to the side opposite to the engine airflow to prevent dirt from entering the filter. Continue rinsing the filter until all traces of detergent are gone. It may be necessary to repeat steps 1 and 2.

 

STEP 3 – DRY the air filter:
After rinsing the filter, gently remove excess water and allow the filter to dry naturally.
Do not apply oil until the air filter is completely dry.
Do not use compressed air or a heat gun.

STEP 4 – APPLY oil to the air filter:
Apply the oil evenly across the entire filter element. Let the oil drain for approximately 20 minutes, then check the clear areas on each side of the filter and add oil until there is a uniform red color across all areas.

 

If using aerosol spray oil, spray it evenly across the element from about 4 inches away. Allow the oil to drain for about 20 minutes. Touch up any light areas on each side of the filter until there is a uniform red color across the entire element.
